Pick Axe Pete: Re-Booted

This is a sketch game idea as an entry for the cover-jam-3.

This is intended to be a reboot of the classic game, Pick Axe Pete. It was a terrible game in its day, and this is not intended to try and reproduce it, just be inspired by it. Looking at the cover, I wondered what the story of this tired old prospector and what desperation may be leading him into the dangerous gold mines. Oh, of course, riches!

You control Pete. Dig new tunnels to find gold. Use ladders to get higher or lower. Ladders cost gold. Get back to the start to finish. Oh, and Pete's not a very prospector and has a habit of not shoring up the tunnels properly, so mind out for rocks!

Limitations:

Unfortunately, the game is not in a completed state. The ladders are not working well, and there is no end of game.

Controls:
W, A, S, D - Move
CTRL + Move - Dig in the direction you're moving
ENTER - Place a ladder
